Small Town Big Deal Tops 1 Million Weekly Viewers

Small Town Big Deal, the television show that celebrates America, is doing a little celebration of its own after recently surpassing the 1 million mark in weekly viewership. 

The milestone was recorded for the six-month period of October 2015 through March 2017 with P+2 viewership (all viewers above 2 years of age) of over 1 million viewers and an average national HH rating of 0.70. The numbers are based on Nielsen ratings.

Chick-Fil-A, Small Town Big Deal Announce Partnership

Chick-fil-A, the largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain in the United States, has teamed up with national TV show “Small Town Big Deal” as a corporate partner and commercial sponsor.

“Our partnership with Chick-fil-A is such a natural fit,” said Rodney Miller, co-host of Small Town Big Deal. “We share the same values while seeking to make a positive difference in communities across America and around the world.”

Small Town Big Deal viewers likely have already spotted the humorous Chick-fil-A cow commercials that began airing on the show in December 2014. But the real impact, Miller says, will go much deeper in the months ahead.

“Our partnership with Chick-fil-A will allow our show to focus even more on the heart-warming stories of everyday individuals doing remarkable things,” said Jann Carl, who is Miller’s co-host. “Because we’re not just featuring people and their communities – we’re telling the story of America.”

David Salyers, Chick-fil-A Vice President of National & Regional Marketing, points out that part of his company’s mission is to have a positive influence on people and communities served by their restaurants. “This new venture really is not about Chick-fil-A or Small Town Big Deal. It’s about turning the mirror around to reflect what’s good about America and inspiring hope and achievement in others.”

Since its inception in 2012, the Small Town Big Deal show – which holds the Parents Television Council’s Seal of Approval – has sought out and uncovered interesting “people stories” from Florida to California and everywhere in between. As part of the new partnership, the show’s producers look forward to finding many more inspirational tales with help from Chick-fil-A and its youth leadership academies and community programs across the country.

“You can also expect to see the Chick-fil-A cows right alongside Rodney and Jann at some of their future public appearances,” Salyers said. “I’m sure they’ll enjoy each other’s company. It’s going to be a lot of fun!”

The founder of Small Town Big Deal, co-host Miller is a farmer at heart, having grown up on a farm in southern Illinois. He also was the CEO of two international farm-equipment companies before following his dream to start a TV show about the heart of America. His co-host Jann Carl made a similar exit, leaving behind the red carpets of Hollywood as the popular TV correspondent and weekend anchor of ABC-TV’s Entertainment Tonight.
