Small Town Big Deal
Explore unique small towns of America with hosts Jann & Rodney as they participate in local events!
Pioneer Lessons and Churchill’s Legacy
Rodney and Jann visit Pioneer Village, where Rodney gets a crash course in old-fashioned ways at a classic county fair. Then, we explore a little-known piece of history: Winston Churchill’s famous Iron Curtain speech, delivered at a small college in the American heartland. We’ll take you inside the impressive museum, a British church from the 11th century painstakingly relocated stone by stone, and a remarkable breakthrough you won’t want to miss.

You n Jan Always have a Great Show!!!!
In our special “Salute to Veterans” we visit Comfort Farms. Established by Army veteran L. Jonathan Jackson, it provides a back to nature approach to prepare veterans for careers in sustainable food production where they serve self, team, and community through nourishing the land, stimulating the economy, and expanding the availability of quality food in local communities. Then we salute Flags of Valor, the maker of handcrafted American flags and goods. Jann and Mallory try to earn their stripes inside this veteran owned and operated business that gives back millions to help our military heroes. We also meet a Vietnam veteran who ‘gave both of his legs to America’ while serving as a marine. His life post-Vietnam has been one of amazement. ... See MoreSee Less

High Flying Thrills and Small Town Stage
Meet the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels, the world’s second-oldest flight team, where precision meets pure adrenaline. Watch them push the limits at 700 mph and fly just 18 inches apart in the breathtaking "Diamond 360" formation. Then, buckle up as Jann takes her first flight aboard “Fat Albert,” the C-130 powerhouse that defies expectations with gravity-defying maneuvers—luckily, she didn’t need the airsick bag! Meanwhile, Rodney trades the cockpit for the stage. Yes, he sings! Discover how great theater isn’t just for big cities—small towns can bring in big stars, too.

Old School Milk and Civil War Grit
Meet the family that saved their struggling dairy farm by going back in time—bottling milk in glass again and introducing bold, unexpected flavors like Root Beer, Coffee, and Mint. And don’t forget the Cajun Cheese Curds! Their gamble paid off, turning tradition into a modern success. Then, meet a man who defied the odds to preserve history. With little help but plenty of grit, he rescued a historic military building and transformed it into a premier American Civil War museum.

Rolling Across Iowa
Every year, thousands of cyclists from across the U.S. and beyond pedal their way across Iowa. Demand is so high that organizers now cap participation at 8,500 and hold a lottery for entry. Jann and Rodney hit the route to meet some of the ride’s most colorful characters (Team Spam, anyone?) and dive into quirky small-town traditions along the way. Ever tried your luck at Chicken Poop Bingo?
